26 February 2010

Well, I just got off the phone about an hour ago with the dentist.  Just confirming my appointment for this Monday at 3:30 PM.  Oh man.  I can’t believe how quick this month went by.  I’m terrified.  I really am scared.  I don’t want to go. I really hope this dentist is much better than all the others I have been to.

Yesterday we watched the last of the Star Wars movies.  I have to say, I think they were pretty fun.  Empire was my favorite.  I just thought it was more exciting then the others.  I will say that I was disappointed in the ending.  To me, Darth Vader was kind of a symbol of the ultimate evil, and watching him turn good at the end seemed kind of like a cop out.  I was talking to Master, and neither one of us really get why it was that Luke had an overwhealming desire to turn his father good.  What motives could he have?  Let’s see..  His father killed his mother (even if it was indirect), he tried to turn him evil, he was killing people left and right.  I dunno.  It was kind of a beautiful when Luke took his father’s helmet off so his father could see him with his own eyes.  Anyway, like I said, I enjoyed it!  Not that I’m going to go super fan, but yeah..  Yoda is god.

This morning, I logged into our bank account and our last refund is in there.  Yesterday Master got his replacement license in the mail, and that leaves only one thing..  A phone call from the Kia people telling us our financing is good.  We missed a call from Kia last night, so Master’s going to try again today.  *hope*

Well, I’ve been kinda busy this morning, so I’m going to cut this short.  Mew mew mew mew mew mew mew.

  1. Don't be scared :) I JUST got home from the dentist about 1 hour ago and I haven't been in about 6 years. I had a filling and a cleaning and I was TERRIFIED to go but it was painless and not nearly as scary as I had expected.

Thanks! :)) I'm trying to look forward to it. I'm not so worried about pain, but rather, I seem to react badly to most of the drugs they use for numbing. I hope my visit goes as smoothly as yours. :))

  2. Re: Star Wars

Ah, well you see, it all goes back to the prophcey. Anakin was destined to restore balance to the force, but unfortunately was corrupted by the Emperor. So it fell to his son, Luke, to help him finish the task. The Force helped Luke find that small spark that was Anakin inside Darth Vader, and bring him back out again (when the Emperor was torturing Luke to death) in order to kill the Emperor. Thus was balance to the Force restored by its Chosen One, and he redeemed by the love of his soon. Which is kind of ironic when you think about it as it was his love for his wife that ultimately pushed him to the dark side.

Wow. Thanks for typing all that out.

Here's another question I'm curious about. Obi Wan. We all saw him basically LET himself be killed. He told Vader that if he was struck down, he would become more powerful than we could ever imagine.

And they left it there? What was that? Is there something else I missed?

      • Obi Wan was basically talking about becoming a "Force Ghost." By becoming one with the Force, he became more powerful than Vader could imagine. I'm sure if Lucas had the tech or effects at the time Obi Wan's presence would have been felt more, but if you'll notice, he was able to go anywhere he wanted to do in the galaxy without need of a space ship and seemed to have a type of omniscience as well.

As for letting Vader kill him, I think it was combination of sacrificing himself to allow Luke to escape and also being ready to move on. He was old, all that he knew was gone, and he knew that Luke was on his way to becoming a Jedi, a process he would still be able to help him with. He was ready to become one with the force.

Damn, now that that is all cleared up.. lol.

Okay, I feel kind of dumb now for even asking. I think that ties up all the ends I thought were loose. ;) Thanks for helpin'
