Going Down: The Official Guide to Cunnilingus

Hits: 5

Master loves cunnilingus.  Actually, “love” doesn’t even BEGIN to describe the love for tasting pussy Master has.  He loves the taste, scent, feel of his mouth on a vagina.  When I told him that the fantastic people over at GoodVibes we sending us Going Down: The Official Guide to Cunnilingus he was over the moon excited.  He’s always interested in hearing new techniques, positions, etc, and that is just what this DVD is supposed to be about.

Supposed to be.  I have to say, both Master and me were a bit disappointed by this DVD.  I think a better title for this DVD would have been something like “Lovers of Cunnilingus” or “Fans of going down”.  The things this DVD set out to do, just didn’t do it for us.  When it comes to learning new techniques, your best bet is to look elsewhere, because this DVD doesn’t really offer you much in the way of anything “new” to try.

The intermittent porn scenes were pretty hot themselves, but Master and me both found that they were either a bit too short, or cut out right when the good stuff was about to happen.  If you’re looking for a straight porno, this isn’t it.  (And it doesn’t claim to be either!)

The DVD starts out with Dr. Carol Queen, who winds up being the main event of movie.  We found her to be very likable, but also a bit awkward.  She would pause or seem really unsure of herself at points.  Master and me both looked at each other a few times and mentioned that she either needed cue cards, or a few retakes.  There’s nothing wrong with retakes, in my opinion.  Spending some extra time working on speaking without seeming lost would have greatly helped the movie.  We both found that she seemed very knowledgeable, but there were a few barriers to her getting her points across.  There were points where we felt like she probably just lacked the time to talk enough about the things she needed to say.  There were also points where she was plain confused looking, just tightening up her part a bit would have made her look much more knowledgeable and professional.

The movie stars Dr. Carol Queen, Chocolate Chip, Danny Wylde, David Steinberg, Jolene Parton, Kim Mears, Madison Young, and Mickey Mod.  They also have a whole host of community voices talking about what they enjoy when it comes to cunnilingus.  Master and me both thought that they had lots of interesting things to say, and I personally enjoyed these parts of the DVD very much.  It is always nice to hear what other people enjoy or find interesting about sex in general, and these snippets helped give a wide variety of different people’s perspectives on the subject.  Loved it!

My biggest beef with this DVD was the second to last section.  The “Safer sex” section of the DVD was just a joke.  The only thing they said, literally, was that you should make sure if you are going to use any barrier, you should put lube on one side so that it will stick.  They left out something major, which bothered me a bit.  In the DVD, they showed people using saran wrap, but completely left out the fact that you must make certain your saran wrap is non-microwavable.  Microwavable saran wrap has tiny pores in it to let out steam, those pores could also let out bugs.  So, please be careful.

All in all, this is a good DVD, but not for the audience they are marketing it to.  If what you want is a DVD which will show you cunnilingus, talk about some very basic anatomy and sexual positions, then this is your DVD.  If you’re looking for something which will give you new techniques, then I’m disappointed to say that this isn’t it at all.  If you are someone who loves cunnilingus, I’m sure you’re going to enjoy all the community voices and the hot sex scenes.  The expert advice however, seems to be a little lacking.

Going Down:  The Official Guide to Cunnilingus is getting 3 paws.

Thank you so much, Good Vibes, for the opportunity to try this DVD in exchange for an honest and fair review.
