Yes, Sir!

One thing I am always on the lookout for is adult books.  I’ve got a book shelf dedicated to them, in my bedroom of course.  Recently the book Yes, Sir caught my attention and the wonderful people at FunLove were kind enough to allow me to review it for them.

Yes, Sir  is a collection of short stories all written by many authors and edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel.  For me, the book was not what I was hoping for, but I think it will appeal to many who just have a different interest in kink than I do.  The book consists of nineteen stories with a wide range in topics from: emotional BDSM, public encounters, assignments at work, and many more.  The stories have a very definite male dominant female submissive slant going on also.  This is a book which shows trust, love, dominance, and submission all in a wonderful light and there is really something for everyone!

For me, the big reason why I didn’t like this book as much as I could have had to do with personal preference, not how the book was written or anything like that.  Most of these stories were about something which is a bit of a pet peeve of mine, something which I don’t understand or find sexy – but which most people in the BDSM community do like, do find sexy, and do enjoy reading about.  Most of these stories had to do with submissives behaving badly, and then getting rewarded for that misbehavior with sexual pleasure.  I know a lot of people will really enjoy this aspect of the book, but for me, this was just a swing and a miss.

The other stories were, for the most part, very hot to me.  There were at least four or five stories in this book which really made me squirm in my seat, and I think that those who enjoy erotica of the kinky variety will really enjoy the multitude of perspectives and stories in this book.

Yes, Sir As a side note: can you go wrong with this cover picture?

The cover deserves a mention too.  It is glossy, paperback, and very hot!  Okay, you probably don’t want to leave this book where little ones or your room mates can see it (unless you’ve got some very open minded room mates!) but the picture is just gorgeous.  While not every story appealed to me, I definitely enjoyed reading this book.  This is one I will gladly add to “the shelf”.  I’m giving it 4 paws.

Thanks again to Fascinations for allowing me to try out this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.
