Vibrator.com has a lot more than just sex tools. They also have lots of other items For Her, including latex lingerie! I do have a slight sensitivity to latex, but so long as it isn’t liquid latex, or an item which is being used internally, I don’t have a problem. So, I was definitely excited when I got an email with an offer to review the Latex Mini Shirt.
The skirt arrived in a simple cardboard box, which shows a woman on the front wearing the skirt. If you are living in a room mate situation, you might want to open this one out of the view of others. The box is similar to one in which you might get pantyhose or stockings in, and I simply threw mine away. You could absolutely keep it for storage though, especially if you have many other latex items.
Inside the box, the skirt is folded up and is wrapped up in a plastic bag. When removed from the plastic bag, you’ll notice that your latex is less than shiny. Most latex comes this way. If you want it to be shiny like in my pictures, be sure to use a latex polish once you get it on. I noticed that they do not carry any latex polish on Vibrator.com, but we did get ours at a local fetish convention. A little goes a long way, so you won’t need much and a bottle should last you a while.
As you can see in the above picture, if you choose not to apply any polish to your latex, it’s going to look a bit “off”. Part of that is because of the powder they apply all over the skirt to prevent it from sticking during shipping, and part of it is because on its own latex isn’t usually that shiny.
Speaking of powder, latex is skin tight, and doesn’t allow your skin to breathe at all. If you’ve used latex clothing before, word to the wise: a bit of talc all over the parts to go into the latex will help keep you dry, and also help the clothes slip on more readily.
Once we got the skirt on, Master noticed right away that it didn’t fit like most other latex clothing we’d had in the past. For one, there were uneven spots in the latex, where you could actually see through to my skin.
There were two major spots in which we noticed this “thinning”. One of them was the side seam where the latex comes together, and the other one was on the lower part of my thigh, where my thigh is thinnest. That has never happened to me before with other latex, even though I’ve only ever owned inexpensive pieces. This skirt? Kind of a bust.
The skirt is meant to be a “One Size” item, but I’m not sure I’d recommend it for most people, unfortunately. While it does look really sexy on (if you can over look the thin spots) it is the thinnest latex garment I’ve ever owned, and I don’t think that most people will get much use out of it.
I am 5’2″ and weigh 145 pounds. My waist is 33″, and my hips are 40″. I think that even if you happen to be a couple inches thinner though that you might want to look for another skirt that is sturdier and will hold up to more use.
The skirt is definitely, cute, inexpensive, and accessible to most people. But it is just too thin and I don’t think it’s going to get a lot of use. I’m giving the latex Mini Skirt 3 paws:Thank you so much, Vibrator.com, for allowing me the opportunity to try out this skirt in exchange for an honest and fair review.
